The use of the heat pump in Colorado has proven to be an economical and tested answer to heating and cooling needs in residential housing. Lakewood Plumbing recommends the use of products built by one of the two leaders in the furnace industry: American Standard.

We sell the Heritage heat pump which works throughout the year, cooling your home during those sometimes hot Colorado summers and heating it in the winter. A heat pump uses electricity to create heat; not natural gas "which is now more expensive than electricity in Colorado."

The heat pump is matched with one of American Standard's Freedom 80 or 90 furnaces. The heat pump warms your house when the temperature is above approximately 32 degrees. Below this temperature the heat pump stops and the furnace takes over the task of providing comfort in your home.

When temperatures heat up the pump reverses itself to provide cooling comfort for your home.
